Most recently, Austin Theory has been wrestling on Main Event, a massive drop from his career high of defeating John Cena at WrestleMania. Exactly why the 28-year-old’s position on the card has dropped so quickly is unknown, although it’s speculated that Triple H simply doesn’t hold him in the same high regard that Vince McMahon previously did.
Therefore, when PWInsider.com reported that Theory had been removed from WWE’s internal active roster, fans online began to fear his time with the company could have ended. However, it appears that this talk was premature, as Fightful Select has reached out to their sources and been told that Theory has actually been moved onto the list of injured talents.
Theory broke into the business in 2016 and received a WWE tryout just two years later. At the time, WWE didn’t sign him, but after he had gained more experience in the indies, it was announced that he had signed a full-time contract in 2019. From there, he became part of NXT, but was soon fast-tracked to the main roster, having caught McMahon’s attention. Still, despite sharing the ring with WWE legends like The Rock, Brock Lesnar, and Steve Austin, his career has stalled following McMahon’s departure.
