Earlier this month, it became known that Charly Caruso, a backstage interviewer who hosted Raw Talk and PPV pre-show panels, was in the dog house with the company. She’d been late for backstage interviews with both Sheamus and Randy Orton, and once this news got back to Vince McMahon, he took her off television and gave her on-air duties to new signing Kevin Patrick. Some sources say she ended up being fired, and others stated WWE simply decided not to renew her contract. Regardless, her time with WWE was over.
However, Caruso, whose real name is Charly Arnolt, now has some good news revealing she has already accepted a new job. She shared this earlier on Instagram, informing fans she has joined ESPN full-time, having worked there part-time since 2018.
As I take this monumental next step in my career, I can’t do so without thanking so many of the people at WWE who I’ve spent the last nearly 5 years with. Thank you to those on and off camera who I had the chance to connect with not only professionally, but personally. Some true gems! And of course, thank you to the WWE Universe, a network of some of the most loyal fans in the world. I hope you all continue to stay in touch because your encouragement means everything! Caruso first got involved in the wrestling business after AEW’s Tony Khan got her tickets for a SmackDown show in 2016. She would meet WWE’s Senior Director of Talent Relations Mark Carrano and got a job as a ring announcer for NXT after Brandi Rhodes requested her release. She’d quickly get brought up to the main roster and would end up becoming a prominent part of WWE’s presenting team once Renee Young departed the company last year.
