Buff Bagwell was involved in a serious car accident in 2020 due to driving while impaired by prescription medications. This would result in him suffering multiple broken bones, tears, and ruptures, and would leave him needing more than a dozen surgeries. Yet while it was hoped he would eventually make a full recovery, he recently revealed he’d made the difficult decision to have his leg amputated due to being told that he’d require three more surgeries to insert a steel rod, and even then, he’d only have a 20% chance of walking again.
And now, having gone through with the surgery, Bagwell is already giving interviews and has disclosed while speaking to Grind City Media that he wants to wrestle again once he gets a prosthetic leg, having identified one with a “microprocessing knee” which was created for Navy SEALS.
55-year-old Bagwell began wrestling in 1990, with his big break coming the following year when WCW signed him. However, despite achieving great success in WCW, once the promotion was purchased by Vince McMahon, his career in mainstream wrestling would effectively end. This was due to WWE releasing him shortly afterward due to two poorly received matches with Booker T and an altercation with Shane Helms, leaving Bagwell to pursue a career as a male escort.
