Prior to Clash In Paris, Rhea Ripley took social media to request that fans “do not swarm me or anyone like a pack of rabid zombies.” Subsequently a video was shared showing her on the streets of Paris, surrounded by over a dozen fans of various ages, all trying to get selfies. And now her husband, AEW star Buddy Matthews, has addressed this himself on X, calling it “Absolutely disgusting.”
Matthews is currently sidelined having landed badly on his ankle while entering the ring at Grand Slam Australia, unfortunately suffering a partial ligament tear and cartilage damage. Initially it was believed he would be ok to return in a few months, but with it later disclosed he still had no mobility, he recently underwent surgery to hopefully fix the issue, sharing a photograph of himself in a hospital bed, with Ripley by his side for support.
