Hulk Hogan passed away last month, and his funeral was reportedly packed with names such as Vince McMahon, Kid Rock, Triple H, Ric Flair, Eric Bischoff, and Paul Wight. However, notably absent was his daughter Brooke, and she has now explained this via her Instagram, revealing Hulk didn’t actually want a funeral and she thus made the decision to “honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how…privately.

“My father hated the morbidity of funerals. He didn’t want one. And although I know people grieve in many ways – and I’m so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how…privately…the way that made me feel the closest to him. … Rest in heaven, Daddy”Brooke Hogan

It first became public knowledge that Brooke was estranged from her family after she failed to attend Hulk’s wedding to Sky Daily. Subsequently, she issued a statement revealing that she had chosen to distance herself from her entire family because she was on her “own journey to healing and happiness.” And while that was obviously sad to find out, Brooke would still demonstrate that she loved her father by giving her daughter Molly his middle name, “Gene,” earlier this year, stating that she reminded her of him.
