However, it appears enough time has passed, as Lesnar has returned to WWE television at the conclusion of SummerSlam to take out John Cena. Seemingly, this now means Lesnar will be Cena’s next feud, with the retiring star having dropped the championship to Cody Rhodes just minutes earlier.
48-year-old Lesnar was meant to participate in the men’s Royal Rumble match in 2024, but following Grant’s problematic allegations, he was pulled, and Bron Breakker took his spot. Still, with Paul Heyman having name-dropped Lesnar during his Hall of Fame induction speech and Triple H failing to verify his time with WWE was over when questioned during press conferences, it always appeared the door was at least slightly ajar for this return.
