Rumors have been swirling ever since WWE announced that Braun Strowman had been suspended indefinitely in kayfabe for attacking Adam Pearce on Raw. Many believed there was more to it because Strowman had internally been scheduled to challenge WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at Tables, Ladders & Chairs.
It has now been verified that Strowman suffered a knee injury at Survivor Series. The severity isn’t known, but it’s obviously bad enough that WWE felt the need to have an angle to explain his absence. With McIntyre vs. Strowman no longer an option, WWE rewrote Raw to have three singles matches, with the winners advancing to a triple threat match to determine the #1 contender. Those three men were AJ Styles, Keith Lee, and Matt Riddle, and one of them will face McIntyre at the TLC pay-per-view for the WWE Championship.
