There was quite a social media ruckus on Thursday when Booker T stated during his podcast that he and CM Punk “almost got into it” at this week’s NXT taping. Which given both men’s track records for fighting colleagues, it seemed totally plausible at the time that the WWE talents could have had some type of altercation. However, Booker T has now taken to X to play down the drama he started by saying, “Y’all are making much to do about nothing.”
Interestingly, despite both men’s long wrestling careers, Booker T and Punk only ever wrestled each other one-on-one once, which was during an episode of SmackDown back in 2007. Still, the pair would work closely together on FS1’s WWE Backstage show, which ran from 2019 to 2021, although Booker T has gone on record to say that he and Punk weren’t close and were at best acquaintances during this time.
