Billy Gunn is a genuine wrestling legend, having broken into the business in 1989 and subsequently establishing himself as a tag team specialist. And while he still wrestles to this day, the fact that he is 61 indicates his in-ring career will likely be over sooner rather than later.
Still, it appears that he intends to go out on his own terms, as during a new interview with Fuel & Flex, he reveals he has two stress fractures in my back, but continues to work out just as hard. Whether he is receiving medical care for his back condition wasn’t revealed, but it is known that if left untreated, it could lead to long-term chronic back pain, limited mobility, and nerve issues.
Gunn joined AEW in 2019 as both a wrestler and coach, going on to adopt the popular “Daddy Ass” persona. While his veteran presence and comedic flair helped keep him popular with fans, his ability to still go in the ring was the real reason he remained on television, allowing him to achieve one final career high by winning the AEW World Trios Championship at All In 2023.
