In sad news, @magateway, an X account dedicated to preserving the history of Mid-Atlantic Wrestling, has announced that legendary announcer and weatherman Bob Caudle has passed away at the age of 95. This update came via his son, who revealed his father passed away peacefully while sleeping.
Caudle was a pioneering wrestling announcer who spent over 30 years in the industry. Starting in the late 1950s, he became the signature voice of NWA Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling in the 1970s and 1980s, calling syndicated shows, Clash of the Champions telecasts, and early Starrcade events. Later, he would announce for Jim Cornette’s SMW until 1995 and made several late-career NWA-related appearances, including Ric Flair’s 2022 Last Match, via tape.
