Despite being drafted back to the main roster, Baron Corbin hasn’t done much in recent months, and therefore, when news broke on Friday evening that his WWE contract wasn’t being renewed, it wasn’t a huge surprise. Still, given that he has been with the company since 2012, it is notable, and many fans will miss him. And now, acknowledging his upcoming departure, the former United States Champion has taken to X and told his followers he appreciates everyone who has supported him.
40-year-old Corbin signed with WWE after he failed to make it to the NFL. Then, following four years of learning his craft in NXT, he made his main roster debut at WrestleMania 32, winning the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Subsequntly, he appeared to be an amusement favorite and received a solid push by winning the Money In The Bank match in 2017 and King of the Ring in 2019. Yet, in recent years, he has fallen down the pecking order and was even moved back to NXT in an attempt to reboot his career.
