Two months ago, it was revealed that Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s WWE contracts were expiring, and no extension had been offered. Still, with Kross having gotten fan support and working his first premium live event in over a year against Sami Zayn at Night of Champions, it appeared he and his wife were in WWE’s long-term plans. However, it has now been reported by Fightful Select that the duo are set to become free agents this upcoming weekend, although it was noted neither has officially been told their deals won’t be renewed.
40-year-old Kross signed with WWE for the first time in 2020 and had many ups and downs during that run. One highlight was winning the NXT Championship for the first time from Keith Lee in only his seventh match on the brand, although his most significant low came when he and his wife, Scarlett, were released due to budget cuts. Still, with Triple H seemingly having been a supporter of the couple, at least at that time, they were promptly rehired once he gained control of creative and talent relations.
