During this week’s episode of Raw, Kingston wrestled LA Knight in a match that saw The New Day member accidentally caught by his opponent’s knee. At the time, it was apparent that Kingston was stunned, but the match continued. And while many online have suggested that this must have at least resulted in Kingston suffering a concussion, Bryan Alvarez has thankfully reported that the 44-year-old isn’t listed on WWE’s internal injury list, indicating he is okay.
Kingston signed with WWE in 2006, and thanks to his high-flying and charisma, was working dark matches on the main roster the following year. He would then be introduced to television viewers via WWE’s version of ECW, and, proving that kayfabe was still prevalent at the time, he was pushed as the company’s first Jamaican wrestler, despite having no Jamaican ancestry. Subsequently, he became a huge fan favorite, and while he is now considered a tag team specialist, thanks to his time as part of the New Day, he has held eight singles titles, including the WWE Championship.
