Backstage News On AEW Airing Footage Of CM Punk’s Altercation With Jack Perry

The backstage altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry was in the news again this week after CM Punk shared his version of events during an interview with Ariel Helwani. In this, the injured WWE star obviously presented himself positively and claimed that AEW management and Perry were in the wrong. However, AEW has now announced via a graphic during Saturday night’s Collision that The Young Bucks will present the actual backstage footage from All In on Dynamite. And while some on social media believed this is just a ratings ploy and what was filmed won’t really air, Fightful Select has since reported the plan is to legitimately broadcast what was caught on camera.

“The talent and staff that immediately inquired were told that the plan is legitimately to air the footage. Regarding questions of legalities, that doesn’t appear to be an issue.”

The day following the now-infamous confrontation, AEW suspended both Punk and Perry and later fired Punk, as this wasn’t the first time things had gotten physical between him and another talent. Yet, ultimately, this all worked out for Punk, as it opened the door for his WWE return, where he is now being presented as a bigger star than ever.
