During the 22nd February episode of Raw, Asuka and Charlotte Flair wrestled Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler in a hard-hitting tag match. Near the end of the contest, Asuka received a stiff boot to the face from Baszler, which Asuka appeared to sell it incredibly well. Although, after the match, it was reported she suffered a concussion and lost at least one tooth. It was feared Asuka might not be able to defend the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania due to the concussion. Thankfully though, she returned on this week’s episode of Raw and immediately got revenge on Baszler by defeating her in singles action.
Now Asuka has shared an update on the Japanese social networking platform NowVoice revealing that she currently has temporary teeth in place, and it’ll be six months before she can have implants. Thankfully though, this means Asuka will be able to compete on WWE’s flagship show in April. At present, there is no confirmation on who she will be defending the title against, although Charlotte Flair is heavily rumored. However, she was absent from Raw last night and is set to star in the upcoming remake of Walking Tall, which could see her miss considerable time filming.
