Following his shock WWE firing, Andrade returned to AEW television, attacking Kenny Omega and joining the Don Callis Family. However, since then, it’s been reported that a non-compete clause related to his WWE departure meant he shouldn’t have signed with AEW and could, in fact, be unable to work for Tony Khan until late 2026.
And while Andrade hasn’t directly addressed this, seemingly preferring to let his and AEW’s legal representatives handle it, he has now reacted to a fan on X who claimed he is secretly involved with a Mexican cartel, asking them and others to “stop making things up.“
35-year-old Andrade previously worked for AEW from 2021 to 2023, often seeming poised for a main event breakthrough. Yet, injury and a backstage clash with Sammy Guevara hindered his momentum, leading to a departure that surprised few at the time. Despite this, sources confirm Andrade left on good terms with Khan, as evidenced by his return to the company, although, given this new legal drama, whether he has a future in AEW remains to be seen.
