Eddie Kingston’s wrestling career was at its pinnacle last year thanks to Tony Khan recognizing his everyman babyface potential. However, after breaking his leg following a collision with the guardrail during the finish of his match with Gabe Kidd at NJPW Strong Resurgence, he is currently sidelined, having required surgery, with it unclear when he will be medically cleared to return.
Still, it appears the AEW star has at least returned to the square circle to work out, as he has now shared a photograph via Instagram where he looks almost unrecognizable thanks to his dishevelled look, simply captioned “f*cking ring.”
43-year-old Eddie Kingston seriously contemplated retiring from the wrestling business before signing with AEW, having failed to establish himself as a performer on the indies or in TNA. Yet his persistence finally paid off when AEW booked him to wrestle Cody Rhodes on Dynamite for the TNT Championship, which, instead of being his swan song, saw him sign a full-time contract and become one of AEW’s most beloved talents, who is sorely missed by fans.
