Earlier this week, Alice In Chains were forced to cancel their tour kickoff at the last minute as drummer Sean Kinney experienced “a non-life-threatening medical emergency.”
On Friday, the band were forced to call off the remainder of their scheduled dates for this month. “After careful consideration and following the advice of medical professionals we have made the decision to cancel our upcoming festival performances and the Alice in Chains headline shows,” the band wrote in a statement. “While we were all eager to return to the stage, Sean’s health is our top priority at this moment. Although the issue requires immediate attention, his long-term prognosis in positive. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and support during this time.”
The band had scheduled around a week’s worth of shows surrounding their appearance at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio. Alice In Chains is still, however, scheduled for the Black Sabbath/Ozzy finale on July 5 in England.
