Keith Lee hasn’t wrestled since December 2023, and although it has been reported that he underwent surgery, further updates have been limited, leaving fans wondering about his future. However, in some much-needed positive news, Lee has now confirmed “a return to the ring will certainly happen,” while responding to fans on X. When this will be remains unclear, but it has previously been speculated that Tony Khan is waiting for the right time to reintroduce him to AEW television.
At one point, 40-year-old Lee was considered a can-not-miss talent in WWE, and it was claimed that Vince McMahon even told Randy Orton to make him look like a star when they first wrestled. Yet, it’s understood that McMahon quickly soured on Lee and sent him to receive additional training, wanting to change what made him stand out in the first place. Not long afterward, he was sidelined due to a heart condition, and his career subsequently seriously faltered, leading to his eventual WWE release.
