Earlier this year, Evil Uno revealed who his dream opponent would be in AEW. Evil Uno told YouTuber Whitty Whittier that he wants to someday face Christian Cage. “I’ve always looked up to him and I would love to wrestle Christian Cage in All Elite Wrestling. I think he’s doing some of his best work, although he has been a jerk. He’s definitely a jerk. He’s a very talented jerk and I would love to get the opportunity to wrestle him someday.”
One opponent Evil Uno got the chance to face earlier this week didn’t come by way of the ring but rather the stage. The Dark Order member took on and was killed by metal legends GWAR in Evil Uno’s hometown of Ottawa. “Evil Uno was killed on stage by @gwar tonight in his home town. Evil Uno has/had a cool life,” he shared on Twitter/X.
GWAR has made it a tradition to kill various people on stage as part of their show, notably political impersonators, and they even fed late, legendary talk show host Jerry Springer to a space monster.
Evil Uno, real name Nicolas Dansereau, has had a lengthy career working with numerous independent promotions including Ring of Honor, Dragon Gate USA, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and is, of course, currently AEW.
He also has become successful with the gaming audience via live-streaming on Twitch. “I was starting to get stir crazy,” he told Sean Ross Sapp referencing the pandemic. “And I said, ‘You know what? This is a way for me to engage my audience because I’m not capable of doing it on television. I’ll go back to doing what I used to do. And I love Twitch streaming. I’m a big gamer. That’s why I got my AEW Games role is my involvement with Twitch and content creation the last decade. So it’s a great way for fans to get a personal interaction with me, while simultaneously I’m also doing something I enjoy.”
