In good news for AEW fans, having not wrestled for almost two years due to a serious back injury, The Blade has made his return to the ring. This occurred at Blissmas 25 in Buffalo alongside his longtime tag partner, The Butcher, who was involved in putting on the wrestling portion of the event. Whether this will see The Blade return to AEW television remains to be seen, as The Butcher has not wrestled for the company since February, though a tag team run in ROH could be possible.
45-year-old The Blade, real name Jesse Guilmette, debuted in 2000 after training with Les Thatcher. He then began working the independents as Pepper Parks, winning titles in HWA, NWA Empire, and ESW. From there, he appeared in ROH, CZW, and Impact Wrestling, where he was involved in storylines involving his wife, Allie. Since 2019, he has been under contract with AEW, teaming with The Butcher against teams like The Young Bucks, FTR, and The Hardys.
