In an Instagram post, AEW World Champion MJF has delivered positive news on his recently hyperextended left knee, sustained during a title defense against Rush on Dynamite. After being forced to miss a Beyond Wrestling appearance last week, MJF has shared footage of himself undergoing cold plunge therapy and revealed that inflammation had already decreased significantly within days. The brash champion, fully in character, credited this recovery method for helping him avoid time off from AEW, suggesting he’ll remain on television while recuperating.
“My inflammation in my knee has drastically gone down. Obviously, there’s still a sh*t ton of inflammation and pain, but being honest with myself, without this cold plunge, I do believe it would have taken me a lot longer to start feeling like myself. And honestly, I think Nordic Wave is going to be a big part of ensuring that I don’t have to take any time off, which is imperative for both my career and, frankly, the company of All Elite Wrestling, ratings, ticket sales, pay-per-view buys, you name it. You’re welcome.” -MJF
MJF has earned a reputation as one of AEW’s toughest and most determined performers, rarely taking extended breaks even with serious injuries. In late 2023, he wrestled through a partially torn labrum and multiple nagging issues throughout his record-long World Championship reign, including a title defense at Worlds End. His latest knee update showcases the same mindset, reinforcing his commitment to pushing through pain unless absolutely necessary and maintaining his dominant presence in the company.
