In worrying news, Fightful Select has reported that 39-year-old Austin Matelson, better known to fans by the ring names Killswitch and Luchasaurus, has been hospitalized since Friday. Apparently, the former Big Brother contestant’s fiance found him collapsed and, thankfully, was able to get him medical assistance, where he was subsequently diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs.
“His fiance found him collapsed on Friday, September 27. He was rushed to the hospital where they found his blood oxygen below 80 percent and determined he had pneumonia in both lungs. It was discovered that he was days away from permanent lung damage. Killswitch has been on oxygen in the days that have followed, and was told to expect a recovery of over a month.”
Matelson debuted for AEW at the promotion’s inaugural pay-per-view Double or Nothing, and it was confirmed shortly afterward he had signed a full-time contract. From there, he would regularly appear alongside his indie tag partner Jungle Boy, with the duo eventually winning the AEW World Tag Team Championships. Yet, AEW management saw both men’s long-term futures as single performers, which resulted in the team breaking up in 2022. However, he is currently a member of The Patriarchy stable alongside Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, and Shayna Wayne.
