AEW Star Has Officially Undergone A Name Change Following All Out

Last year, news broke that Killswitch had been hospitalized due to pneumonia in both lungs. According to reports, the AEW wrestler had collapsed at his home and, thankfully, was found by his girlfriend, who got him urgent medical assistance. Therefore, when he made his return to the ring as the replacement tag team partner for Kip Sabian against Adam Copeland and Christian Cage at Forbidden Door, fans were delighted, even though he was a heel.

However, it’s now known that the long-term plan was for him to reunite with his Jurassic Express tag partner, Jack Perry, as he would save him from The Young Bucks at All Out. And now officially confirming what most suspected, Killswitch is no more, as AEW’s website lists the 40-year-old under his former name, Luchasaurus.

Luchasaurus, whose real name is Austin Matelson, entered the business through Florida Championship Wrestling, a WWE developmental territory at the time. Yet, despite showing great promise, he would decide to pursue a career in reality television, placing fifth in the 2015 version of Big Brother. Nevertheless, pro wrestling remained his true passion, and after working on the indies and for Lucha Underground, he ended up being signed by Tony Khan to help fill his initial AEW roster.
