AEW/ROH Wrestler Pays Homage To Mikey Whipwreck At Death Before Dishonor

ROH’s Death Before Dishonor event took place on Friday night at the legendary 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. The reason this venue is considered so special is that at one time it was known as the ECW Arena and hosted some of the most famous matches in the promotion’s history. And now, paying tribute to his trainer, John Silver of The Dark Order has caught fans’ attention by wearing the iconic dragon shirt that ECW original Mikey Whipwreck made famous.

52-year-old Whipwreck went from one of the ring crew to ECW Champion thanks to his ability to play a sympathetic babyface and the masterful booking of Paul Heyman. Yet, while best remembered for his time in ECW, he also had a brief spell in WCW, which allowed him to showcase his ability to a worldwide audience. Still, he has been out of the spotlight for many years and, unfortunately, is battling near-constant headaches due to the effects of post-concussion syndrome.
