Last October, AC/DC made their return to the live stage with their appearance at the Power Trip festival in California. The band performed a 24-song set knocking off the cobwebs and surprising fans with a few songs they hadn’t performed in years. The show began with “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)” — marking the first time the song had ever been performed as a set opener. The band included two other deep cuts — “Stiff Upper Lip” and “Riff Raff” — and debuted two songs from their most recent “Power Up” album — “Shot In The Dark” and “Demon Fire.”

Earlier this week, the official AC/DC website launched a countdown clock that is scheduled to hit zero on Monday at 3 a.m. EST. The band’s social media channels have also been updated with a trailer showing the iconic lighting bolt from their logo with the words “ARE YOU READY” soundtracked to the song of the same name from their 1990 album “The Razors Edge.”

Many believe the announcement will be for an AC/DC tour, or at least select live dates. Others have also speculated that the band might announce news of another album, though that seems less likely.

If AC/DC does tour, they could be doing so without another longtime member, bassist Cliff Williams. Comedian Dean Delray posted that the band will be taking out a new bass player. Williams performed with the group for Power Trip but had previously said he no longer wanted to tour. AC/DC also performed Power Trip without staple drummer Phil Rudd. That spot was taken by drummer Matt Laug. It’s rumored that Rudd has visa issues stemming from legal troubles year ago.

It will be interesting to see how many dates AC/DC hopes to tackle given the recent hearing troubles of singer Brian Johnson. Whatever shows they do, however, will undoubtedly be massive.
