Fans were shocked on Saturday when news broke that Andrade was no longer with WWE, with it later revealed that he had actually been sent home by the company several weeks prior. And now, while discussing this on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has dismissed the online speculation that it could be due to a wellness policy violation or the fact that his ex-wife, Charlotte Flair, wanted him gone.

However, the journalist would say, “It was enough to be sent home,” and acknowledged his lack of involvement in AAA following WWE’s takeover of the promotion. This suggests that Andrade possibly declined to participate in WWE’s cross-promoted shows with the Mexican promotion and it was therefore deemed a disciplinary issue.

“I was told it was not drug-related, not alcohol-related, not marriage-related, but nobody would tell me what it was. But, it was enough to be sent home. … I know they wanted him in the AAA project. I’m not sure that he was, you know, he didn’t do it.”Andrade

35-year-old Andrade made his name in CMLL but has wrestled a couple of matches for their main rival, AAA, both of which took place at Triplemanía. Yet, it’s known that at the time he fell out with AAA management, specifically Konnan, over plans changing from having him win the AAA Mega Championship from Kenny Omega to putting him over. Why the booking decision was changed isn’t public knowledge, but it’s rumored to be related to how much he wanted to be paid for future dates. Still, it seems unlikely that Andrade would sacrifice his WWE career over not wanting to work with Konnan.
