WWE superstar Sheamus hasn’t wrestled since November, having been replaced by The Miz in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament, due to injury. And now, confirming the injury is serious, his wife, Isabella, has revealed on Instagram that he has undergone shoulder surgery in Birmingham, Alabama. As of writing, no return date has been announced for the 47-year-old veteran, with recovery from such injuries ranging from just weeks for minor procedures to 6-12 months or more extensive ones.
Sheamus, born Stephen Farrelly, began his wrestling career in 2002 with Irish Whip Wrestling. Signing with WWE in 2007, he debuted on the main roster in 2009 and memorably won the WWE Championship from John Cena, becoming the first Irish-born champion. A four-time world champion, he also secured three United States titles and five tag team championships, notably with Cesaro as The Bar. Additionally, he won the 2010 King of the Ring and the 2012 Royal Rumble, and established himself as a future WWE Hall of Famer through feuds with Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, and Triple H.
