WWE has yet to confirm it publicly, but United States Champion Andrade has been suspended for a WWE’s wellness policy violation. As it is his first violation, the suspension is for 30-days.
Interestingly Andrade was made aware of the suspension Monday morning, but WWE decided not to have him drop the United States Championship on Raw. Instead, his match with Humberto Carrillo ended in a DQ, and afterward, there was an injury angle with Carrillo hitting Andrade with a Hammerlock DDT on the floor.
Previously WWE has chosen to take the title of suspended wrestlers with Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, and RVD, all previously having dropped their titles after violations.
It seems WWE is ramping up its wellness policy testing because, after no violations since 2016, this is third in two months following those of Robert Roode and Primo Colon.
