WWE Reportedly Interested In Bringing Back FTR

Since Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, collectively known as FTR, departed WWE to prove they are one of the top tag teams in the world, they have done just that. This month alone, they have competed in two match of the year contenders when they wrestled the Briscoes at ROH Supercard Of Honor and then The Young Bucks on AEW Dynamite. Now it appears they have recaptured WWE’s attention, as a report from Fightful Select states that the duo is wanted by the company they teamed for between 2014 and 2020.

WWE has expressed interest internally about possibly bringing back the team formerly known as The Revival. In 2019, the two passed up what were then huge offers of $850,000 each, with Mark Carrano even mentioning that he could possibly get them to $1 million each before they left for All Elite Wrestling. WWE is unable to approach FTR directly.

It seems unlikely that Wheeler and Harwood would want to return to WWE, considering that they have much more freedom now than when working for them. Nevertheless, money does talk, and back in December 2021, it was revealed FTR didn’t have long remaining on the AEW contracts. However, precisely how long isn’t public knowledge, as it’s understood their multi-year deal didn’t start when they first debuted on May 27th, 2020.

When competing as The Revival, they would win every tag title available in the promotion but wanted to leave due to their belief the tag division was an afterthought, citing Braun Strowman winning the Raw Tag Team Championship with a child. That said, WWE has recently presented the division stronger with SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Uso’s aligned with Romain Reigns and Raw’s Tag Team Champions being the popular double act of Randy Orton and Matt Riddle.
