During a heated promo on last week’s episode of Raw, CM Punk escalated his feud with Roman Reigns by threatening to “bury” him next to his late father, Sika Anoa’i. The line would subsequently draw backlash online, including from Anoa’i family members. And now on his Kliq This podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has expressed his strong disapproval. Additionally, he bluntly stated, “If death is funny, may it be on your doorstep the next f*cking day,” towards whoever came up with the remark.
“I don’t like that. I mean, it just, you know, I’m not even going to make reference to it because whoever’s idea it was, on any level, if death is funny, may it be on your doorstep the next f*cking day. I’d imagine something like that would have to go through creative. I don’t think Phil would have just done that to Roman.” – Kevin Nash
66-year-old Nash has endured profound personal losses in recent years, heart-wrenching, losing his son, Tristen Nash, aged 26, who died tragically from cardiac arrest following a seizure linked to alcohol withdrawal. Nash has openly grieved this devastating blow, connecting it to the “nasty drug” that also claimed close friend Scott Hall, who passed in March 2022 after heart complications. More recently, in July 2025, his longtime nWo stablemate Hulk Hogan died at 71 from a heart attack. These tragedies deeply affected Nash, highlighting the fragility of life, and therefore it’s understandable why he is against death being referenced in a wrestling promo.
