WWE Employee Who Vince McMahon Tried To Save With Huge GoFundMe Donation Has Passed Away

Tagically it has been reported by Ringside News that Jim Shank, a dedicated WWE production employee for over 26 years, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at age 60 after a long battle with colorectal cancer. Shank first joined WWE in November 1999 and rose to the role of Technical Operations Manager, where his masterful work with robotic and remote-controlled camera systems helped elevate the production of every live show.

Most fans first learned of Jim Shank’s heartbreaking condition when his devoted wife, Leisa, launched a GoFundMe to cover the staggering $200,000 needed for lifesaving treatment. The wrestling community poured out support, with several of the biggest names in the business generously contributing. Though the campaign teetered on falling short at one point, former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon stepped in with an extraordinary act of compassion by donting a $122,538 to bridge the gap and give his longtime employee the chance to fight on.
