Bill Goldberg Comments On His Relationship With Triple H

In a candid interview on Going Ringside, Bill Goldberg has opened up about his once-rocky relationship with Triple H, admitting the two could barely stand each other for years. He pointed to a pre-WWE confrontation, their shared agent, and Triple H’s marriage into the McMahon family as factors that created what he called an “unwinnable situation.” Despite the personal tension, business prevailed, and Goldberg has now praised his former rival, saying, “At the end of the day, he’s a good guy.”

It was different at the time, because he and I couldn’t stand each other, we were both represented by the same agent, and we had a confrontation prior to me going to the WWE, and then, oh, by the way, he was married to Vince McMahon’s daughter, so I mean it was kind of like me walking into an unwinnable situation, but I think business prevailed, and truthfully, at the end of the day, he’s a good guy.– Bill Goldberg

The real-life feud between Bill Goldberg and Triple H truly took off in the late 1990s at a high-profile licensing event in New York. Upset over comments Triple H had made about him previously, Goldberg left the WCW booth and stormed to the WWF side, launching a heated, profanity-filled tirade at Triple H, who apparently responded by laughing it off with those in attendance. Still, the ugly confrontation created lasting bad blood that lasted for years.
