WrestleCon Removes Rick Steiner From Upcoming Event After He Fails To Apologize Publicly

Unfortunately, WrestleCon from earlier this year was tarnished due to Rick Steiner harassing Impact Wrestling star and transgender woman Gisele Shaw. According to the Knockout, she was called “a dude,” “filth,” “a piece of trash,” and told to “get the f*ck away from here” by the WWE Hall of Famer. Subsequently, WrestleCon would remove Steiner from the event and issue apologies.

However, surprisingly with their next event coming up in August, they had booked Steiner again. This, though, would not go down well on social media, and following fan backlash, the organizers have decided to remove Steiner from their upcoming convention because he failed to issue a public apology they’d given him 24 hours to deliver.

Highspots, the company behind WrestleCon, obviously felt strongly about bringing him back and thus were prepared to risk their reputation and brand by booking him. Nevertheless, common sense has prevailed, and the lack of a public apology from Ric Steiner does speak volumes.
