Royce Keys, formerly known as Powerhouse Hobbs in AEW, made his WWE debut at the 2026 Royal Rumble but has yet to appear on Raw or SmackDown since. And while he has worked some dark matches against Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, and Nathan Frazer, there has been some concern online about his WWE future. Still, there’s no need to worry, as PWInsider.com reports he is getting “acclimated” to his new employer’s ways of working, and his absence shouldn’t be seen negatively.
“One person noted that Royce Keys, fka Powerhouse Hobbs is getting “acclimated” to how WWE production runs. Him not appearing on TV yet shouldn’t be seen as anything but the company prepping him.” – PWInsider.com
41-year-old Keys debuted in 2009 on the California independent scene after training with APW Boot Camp. This eventually led him to AEW in 2020, where he became a standout hoss, capturing the TNT Championship with Team Taz and the World Trios Championship with The Opps alongside Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata. However, despite a big-money offer from Tony Khan to remain All Elite, Keys decided he wanted to work for WWE and is now competing for the company under his new ring name, which honors his son Royce and his late mother’s maiden name.
