In August, Raja Jackson, the son of Rampage Jackson, made headlines after he hospitalized Stu Smith, an army veteran who was pursuing a pro wrestling career, to help him cope with PTSD. The shocking incident, which was caught on camera, saw Jackson, a trained MMA fighter, savagely beat Smith in a KnokX wrestling ring, following an altercation earlier in the evening involving a beer can.

Initially, it seemed that the second-generation fighter may have managed to avoid legal consequences, as the police appeared to be taking little action. However, after he was finally arrested last month, the LA Times has now reported he is set to be charged with one count of felony battery and one count of misdemeanor battery. Therefore, if found guilty, Jackson faces up to five years in prison.

“Jackson, 25, will be charged with one count of felony battery that caused serious bodily injury and one count of misdemeanor battery in connection with an incident at a KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy event in Sun Valley on Aug. 23, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.”LATimes.com

While most fans are pleased to know that Jackson is likely to be punished for his reckless actions, the bigger concern has always been the health of Smith, who, according to his official Instagram account, is recuperating at home. Still, even with his life no longer being in jeopardy, it’s understood that he faces a long road to recovery, which is being aided by the $223,000 that was raised via a GoFundMe which got mainstream attention.
