Update On Steve Maclin After His TNA Sacrifice Main Event Match Was Cut Short

During TNA Sacrifice’s main event, Steve Maclin’s world title challenge against Mike Santana ended abruptly after he took a stiff superkick early in the bout, raising immediate concerns of a concussion. The ref quickly halted the match, and Maclin was evaluated backstage before being sent to a local hospital for further tests. However, to the surprise of many, during an interview with Sports Illustrated, TNA President Carlos Silva revealed that Maclin passed all medical evaluations and was not actually diagnosed with a concussion, suggesting that any time away from the ring will be short.

TNA president Carlos Silva told The Takedown that Maclin was not ultimately diagnosed with a concussion, as he cleared all of his tests and was released to go back to his hotel for the night,– Sports Illustrated

38-year-old Maclin, a former U.S. Marine Corps veteran, transitioned from military service to professional wrestling in 2013. After early success on the independents, he joined WWE as Steve Cutler, competing in NXT as part of the Forgotten Sons tag team, but was released in 2020 due to budget cuts. Subsequently, he signed with TNA in 2021 and quickly became an integral performer by showcasing his gritty resilience and military-inspired intensity throughout his career.
