Two months ago, Brian Pillman Jr. was spotted training at the WWE Performance Center following the expiration of his AEW contract. Therefore, it has been presumed he was WWE-bound, with NXT believed to be his most likely destination. And now, it has been reported by PWInsider.com that the 29-year-old is set to officially start with NXT this week, although they note he likely won’t be appearing on television immediately as they want to allow him time to “get his feet under him.“
The son of the late great Brian Pillman began training at Lance Storm’s wrestling school back in 2017. This would lead him to work for MLW, whose contracts at the time also permitted him to work for AEW simultaneously. And this is where he achieved most of his career fame as part of the Varsity Blondes alongside Griff Garrison. However, prior to his AEW departure, he was most frequently working as a singles competitor or teaming with Arn Anderson’s son, Brock Anderson.
