Following his unexpected WWE firing, Andrade returned to AEW, attacking Kenny Omega and joining the Don Callis Family. However, since then, the storyline hasn’t progressed, as it was revealed he actually has a lengthy non-compete clause, and therefore shouldn’t have appeared on Dynamite in the first place.
Still, it’s understood that his non-compete only applies to America, so last month, The Crash booked him to win their main championship, indicating he would be spending some time down south of the border. But in another example of drama following the luchador, Dave Meltzer has reported that after fulfilling his meet-and-greet obligations, Andrade left The Crash’s XIV Aniversario show on Friday due to being “unhappy” with something.
36-year-old Andrade previously worked for AEW from 2021 to 2023, and at times appeared to be heading towards the main event. Unfortunately, this run was hampered by injury and a backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara, which negatively impacted his standing within the company. Still, sources indicate that Andrade parted ways with Tony Khan amicably, as proven by his re-signing, and therefore will almost certainly return to the company’s television as soon as legally permitted.
