In news that will likely surprise no one, metal legends Twisted Sister are coming out of retirement — for one performance at least — to take the stage when they are inducted later this month into the Metal Hall of Fame.

It was previously announced that Twisted Sister would receive the honor with guitarist Steve Vai and drummer Mike Portnoy inducting the group on Jan. 26 in Los Angeles.

“Looking forward to our induction into the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame on Jan.26th 2023 in LA,” wrote guitarist Eddie Ojeda. That message was soon followed by singer Dee Snider’s response, “Looking forward to playing together for the first time since 2016…especially the rehearsal!”

It is not known who will sit in for late drummer A.J. Pero at the Jan. 26 performance which is taking place at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California. Pero died of a heart attack in 2015, and shortly after Twisted Sister announced their “Forty and F*ck It” tour with Portnoy on drums.

Other inductees at the ceremony include guitarist Chris Impellitteri, Raven, and Foreigner vocalist and solo artist Lou Gramm.

Snider clarified that the performance isn’t a full show by any means later tweeting, “We will be playing a few songs.”

Earlier this week, Slayer guitarist Kerry King said he was upset that the band called it quits so early, and earlier this year, Motley Crue performed on The Stadium Tour after previously announcing their retirement.
