Tony Khan Fires Back At The USA Network Following Online Jibe

Tony Khan has previously used Cagematch stats to demonstrate AEW’s match and show quality. And while this is one way to identify the high quality of his product, not everyone agrees. Subsequently, some fans online have gone as far as to mock him for this, and now the USA Network’s official X account has seemingly joined in on this by tweeting out, “What was the cage match rating?” in regards to the confrontation between Seth Rollins and Jinder Mahal and a previous match they had in NXT.

However, with AEW’s co-owner and founder not known for standing by as he and his company are attacked, Khan has promptly responded and noted that using Mahal, who hasn’t won a match in almost a year, isn’t hurting AEW. Additionally, he would note the double standard from some wrestling fans who criticize him for letting 28-1 Hook call out AEW Champion Samoa Joe, whereas in WWE, Mahal is set to wrestle Seth Rollins for their World Heavyweight Championship.

When Tony Khan is cooking on social media, it’s always popcorn-worthy, and it will now be interesting to see whether the USA Network replies in any way. However, all that really does is prove that AEW is competition to the WWE, and that has always been something the company has tried to play down.
