It’s no secret that Tony Khan grew up as a huge Ric Flair fan, even using the email address [email protected] when he first got online. And now, while appearing on 1035 KISSFM, AEW’s head honcho has compared his current star Jon Moxley to the WCW legend, noting how both men are known for their blade jobs and were prepared to put the hours in on the road as champions.
39-year-old Moxley first broke into the business as a teenager by selling snacks and helping set up the ring for Les Thatcher’s Heartland Wrestling Association. Then, once he was old enough, he began training and soon started making a name for himself on the independent circuit. Subsequently, he signed with WWE in 2011, where he became one of their most prominent talents, thanks to his involvement with The Shield. Yet, despite being a genuine WWE main event star, he departed the company in 2019 due to unhappiness and later joined AEW, which he now considers his home.
