TNA President Carlos Silva Comments On His Decision To Fire Gail Kim

The wrestling community was shocked when TNA fired Gail Kim in March, marking the end of her 14-year tenure with the company. And now, during an interview with Ariel Helwani, TNA President Carlos Silva has addressed letting the former WWE star go, calling it “the most difficult decision I’ve had to make so far in running TNA.

So Gail, I mean Hall of Famer, TNA Hall of Famer, been there for years. You know, I think we just, when you come into an organization, you have to look at what’s working and what’s not working. And sometimes you have to make changes because you’ve got to move forward to continue the growth … There are always going to be people that are upset. I mean, Gail had been there a long time. Of course, it wasn’t an easy decision to make. It’s the most difficult decision I’ve had to make so far in running TNA.”Carlos Silva

Following 48-year-old Kim’s shock departure from TNA, it was reported that she didn’t get along with TNA Executive Producer Ariel Shnerer, and rather than choose one over the other, Silva fired both. Still, after Kim stated on Instagram following her firing, “This is not the end of Gail Kim in the wrestling world,” it has been reported that she has been backstage at several NXT tapings, indicating she has landed on her feet.
