TNA Has Reportedly Extended A Talents Contract Despite Them Asking To Explore Free Agency

TNA was thrown into chaos when it was announced that Scott D’Amore had been fired as their President, and subsequently, it has been reported that many talents are very unhappy with this. And now, adding to the backstage drama, after TNA announced on Tuesday they had exercised their one-year option on Josh Alexander’s contract, it has been reported by Fightful Select that Alexander asked them not to. Apparently, while Alexander was open to staying, he wanted to “survey the landscape” and explore free agency first, but TNA declined this.

36-year-old Alexander began to make a name for himself on the Canadian indies in the mid-2000s, but people started to really take notice of him when he began working for TNA, then known as Impact Wrestling in 2018. Initially, as an enhancement talent, he would prove his worth to the promotion over time and going on to hold the Tag Team Championships twice with Ethan Page before becoming a singles competitor and becoming X-Division Champion and ultimately winning the Impact World Championship on two separate occasions.
