TNA Has Changed Their Policy Regarding Offering Talents Contracts

It was recently spotted that the Motor City Machine Guns were being advertised for an indie show the same night TNA was holding their April pay-per-view Rebellion. This news obviously got fans talking, as both Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are key performers for promotion, and subsequently, PWInsider.com confirmed that the duo’s deals were expiring imminently. And now, while not specifically related to Shelley and Sabin, it has been reported by Fightful Select that following TNA’s recent management changes, some talents are only being offered per-date deals rather than full-time contracts.

“We’re told that TNA’s offers of late have been categorically different than what many were expecting, especially after some of the talent meetings held in recent months. While we can’t speak to the Motor City Machine Guns specifically, we’ve heard that some talent are instead being offered per-date deals instead of full on contracts.”

It was thought that TNA was set for a revival in 2024, having boldly decided to revert to its previous name and spending money on signing former WWE star Nic Nemeth. However, fans were stunned to find out that Scott D’Amore had been fired from his position as TNA President shortly after this. And while nobody involved has directly come out and announced why D’Amore was let go, it is believed that he had been pushing for a bigger budget, which TNA’s parent company actually wanted to see reduced.
