Last week say AEW Dymanite beat NXT in the Wednesday Night Wars by just 6,000 average viewers, so it couldn’t have been closer going into last night’s episodes.
AEW Dynamite ended up decreasing from 851,000 average viewers to 778,000 viewers, and NXT fell from 845,000 average viewers to 778,000 viewers. Yes, you read that right, it was a tie! With both shows having significant drops though is a worry.
AEW Dynamite featured The Butcher and The Blade defeating QT Marshall and Cody, Hangman Page and Omega beating Spears and Sabian, Luchasaurus beating Sammy Guevara, and The Young Bucks winning a Texas Street Fight over Santana and Ortiz to become #1 contenders for the tag titles.
NXT had Angel Garza win the Cruiserweight Championship from Lio Rush, Dakota Kai defeated Mia Yim, Breezango defeated The Singh Brothers, and Finn Balor defeating Keith Lee and Tommaso Ciampa to become #1 contender.
As usual, AEW won the key demos, except the over 50’s, but NXT has a major advantage going it to next weeks because their episode will be headlined by Finn Balor challenging Adam Cole for the NXT Championship.
