The British Bulldog was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020, with most believing his inclusion was long overdue. And while this was a huge deal to his family, they are likely distressed after it was reported on Thursday that thieves had stolen his WWE Hall of Fame ring. According to a Facebook post, the ring was in the possession of Smith’s son, Davey Boy Smith Jr., and was taken along with wrestling gear, a Hart Foundation leather vest, and jewelry. A subsequent update would, thankfully, confirm that some items have been recovered, although the ring remains missing as of writing.
“The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith was a legendary British professional wrestler who debuted at 15, gaining fame as one half of The British Bulldogs tag team with cousin Dynamite Kid, capturing WWE Tag Team titles in the 1980s. As a singles star, he won the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam 1992 at Wembley Stadium and became the inaugural European Champion. Though never a World Champion, he was one of the biggest stars of the mid-90s in both WWE and WCW, but tragically passed away on May 18, 2002, at the age of just 39 from a heart attack linked to an enlarged heart.
