The Young Bucks Deny Sending Feelers To WWE

Over the weekend, Ryan Frederick of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and F4Wonline.com claimed on the site’s forum that The Young Bucks had sent feelers via a fellow wrestler to WWE prior to their AEW contract renewal. Therefore, they appear to have been open to signing with WWE under the right circumstances. Now though, Frederick’s boss Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the brothers deny that they did this. However, Meltzer notes that while that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, he questions why they’d need to go through someone to speak with Triple H, as they already know him from past negotiations.

The only thing I know about that is that they have said that that story is not true. Not that they talk to people in WWE, that’s not unusual. But again, time will tell on what happened and what’s happening and everything like that. And you probably know more than I do some of this stuff, but I do know that they’ve denied that stuff, obviously, that rumor.

As far as calling and everything, the one thing that is kind of weird to me, and it’s like the nature of the story, is that they called a WWE talent who I’m sure they did call and wanted to get in touch with Triple H or something, right? And it’s like, why would they do if you wanted to get in touch with Triple H? I mean, they negotiated with the guy in 2018 a lot. So why would you need an intermediary to go through if that was your goal?

Ultimately, Khan used his option to extend the brother’s deal as he did with both Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega, meaning they are with AEW until 2024. Nevertheless, with an investigation currently being carried out into the backstage altercation between The Elite, CM Punk, and Ace Steel, it is possible that Khan could release them. That, though, seems incredibly unlikely, as, given their status, they would almost certainly sign with WWE. Plus, given they were assaulted by an AEW talent and producer, they could potentially sue the company for wrongful dismissal depending on the wording in their EVP contracts.
