The Sandman’s Retirement Match Opponent Revealed

When it was announced that The Sandman would wrestle his retirement match at Joey Janela’s Spring Break X on April 17, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, most assumed Janela himself would be his final opponent. However, it has now been announced on social media that his competitor will be the Invisible Man. For those unaware, The Invisible Man is a gimmick character from DDT and prior Spring Break appearances, and it seems to indicate that The Sandman’s last match will be played for comedy.

62-year-old Sandman, real name James Fullington, debuted in 1990 and rose to fame in ECW as the beer-guzzling, kendo stick-wielding hardcore wrestler, winning the ECW Championship a record five times and one Tag Team Championship with 2 Cold Scorpio. His extreme style, iconic “Enter Sandman” entrances, and hard-hitting rivalries defined ECW’s hardcore era. Additionally, he competed in WCW, TNA, and WWE, although he has been semi-retired for over a decade.
