Young Rock is an upcoming NBC series that explores The Rock’s unique childhood. The Rock lived a fascinating life due to being the son of a professional wrestler Rocky Johnson and would know legendary wrestlers like André the Giant not for their stardom, but as family friends. He’d also call numerous places home throughout his youth, including New Zealand, North Carolina, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Hawaii, predominantly due to his father’s career.
Filming is currently underway in Australia, and The Rock has shared several photos on Instagram to whet fans appetites. You can see the actors portraying his parents, André the Giant, Iron Sheik, and the Junkyard Dog in the below photos.
The series is being produced by The Rock’s company Seven Bucks Productions, named for the amount of money Johnson had in his pocket after being released from the Canadian Football League in 1995. They previously were involved in bringing to life the story of Paige’s journey to WWE to the big screen with Fighting With My Family. As of yet, no release date for Young Rock has been confirmed, but 2021 is expected.
